The Grenadier Station Wagon is a 5-seater passenger vehicle with two rows of seats. Compared to the Utility Wagon, the emphasis is slightly more on passenger carrying than load space capacity, while maintaining a strong payload.

THE GRENADIER WORKS FOR THE WORLD

Untitled design (1).png

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Much of the world is ‘off-road’. Yet car manufacturers are busy making luxury SUVs built more for their height on the road than their off-road capability. That’s where Jim recognised a gap in the market for the type of seriously capable, durable 4X4 that no-one’s building anymore. That’s what sparked the conversation between him and some friends in the Grenadier pub in 2017.

In the years since, the Grenadier team has worked tirelessly to overcome challenge after challenge, to make Sir Jim’s vision for a 4X4 built for the world a reality.

KNIGHT RIDERS

As a seven-time F1 world champion, Mercedes-AMG Formula One Team driver, Lewis Hamilton, is used to putting vehicles through their paces. So, when Sir Jim Ratcliffe invited him to experience the Grenadier on- and off-road at one of the UK's top vehicle proving grounds, he grabbed the opportunity to get behind the wheel. A serious examination of the Grenadier's rugged capability, and seriously fun too.

VIEW FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT

Over the past two years, our ‘Building the Grenadier’ series has revealed every stage of our proper 4X4’s development. Now, after 1.1 million miles of testing, the Grenadier is almost ready for production.

At this important milestone, we speak to the man behind it all: INEOS Chairman and CEO, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as he looks back on where it all began, the Grenadier journey, and what the future holds for our rugged 4X4.

GRENADIER TRAILS

With 1.8 million kilometres of testing in plain sight done, it was time for the next stage. Getting Grenadier 2B prototypes into the hands of those who will use it out in the world. So, our teams took our rugged 4X4 to tackle some of the toughest jobs we could find. Gold mining in the Australian outback, overlanding in Namibia, and supporting GS Trophy motorcyclists in the wilds of Albania. All three pushing the Grenadier to the limit in the real world.

BUILDING A NO NONSENSE 4X4

Following the ‘Building the Grenadier’ series is your opportunity to track our progress as we create the ultimate off-roader. Step by step. Piece by piece.

Engineering journalist, Mark Evans, has been given an access-all-areas pass to interview our team, explore each component and even get your questions answered. He’ll take you behind the scenes to see all the latest developments, so by the time it’s finished, you’ll know the Grenadier inside out.
